Moose Hill Ranch takes great pride in the expertise of our professional staff. We offer lessons and training in both English and Western. Additionally, we are pleased to offer a variety of clinics, seminars etc. throughout the year.

Our instructor provides a wide variation of lessons for all disciplines. Expand your knowledge of general horsemanship, natural horsemanship, jumping, dressage, flatwork, hunter/jumper, eventing, western pleasure, barrel racing, reining and more!

RUTH RATCLIFFE

Ruth brings the vast knowledge and experience of 35 years as an instructor, coach, judge, clinician and trainer to Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre. She is a certified Level II Western Coach in all disciplines (pleasure, horsemanship, reining, trail, speed events, showmanship), an Equine Canada (EC) certified Senior Judge, an EC certified English Instructor (hunter jumper, dressage, flat classes), the Master Evaluator for Alberta and B.C., and a National Certified Coaching Program Level II Coach. She is also the only certified Drill Team Judge in Canada. Most recently, she was named the Equine Canada Coach of the Year.

Ruth is also the author of the book Ride the Stride; an in-depth Study for “The Training of Musical Rides." Ruth was the director and coach of the world-famous Calgary Stampede Showriders for 10 years, and taught the Western Coaching program at Olds College for 2 years. Her knowledge, patience, encouragement and horsemanship are a tremoundous asset to Moose Hill Ranch Equestrian Centre – making our facility one of a kind!
